COSTA BLANCA

The weather and climate on the Costa Blanca is usually excellent. The Costa Blanca enjoys more than 2,800 hours of sunshine each year with an average annual temperature of 19.3 degrees Celsius.
Because the weather and climate on the Costa Blanca is so hot and reliable, the Costa Blanca has become a world-renowned tourist destination for sun lovers. The Costa Blanca enjoys approximately 325 sunny days each year.

COSTA BLANCA WEATHER IN THE SUMMER

The weather in summer on the Costa Blanca is typically very hot with little to no rainfall. Summer temperatures in most Costa Blanca towns will mostly be between 25 degrees Celsius to 35 degrees Celsius during the day. Temperatures on the Costa Blanca rarely drop below 15 degrees Celsius.

In August the weather on the Costa Blanca can be almost unbearably hot with some days reaching 40 degrees Celsius or more. Fortunately if you are on the Costa Blanca coast you will most likely have cooling sea breezes.

Because the humidity is low you won't feel the temperature is as high as it really is. Do take precautions and keep out of the sun between 12 o'clock and 3 o'clock. Always wear a high sun cream factor.

We would not advise booking a golf holiday in Spain in the months of July and August as many foreigners will not be able to cope with the heat.

MURCIA

SUMMER

Summers in Murcia are very hot with very little rainfall. The average daily temperature is generally between 25 to 35 degrees with several days topping 40 degrees. Fortunately the low humidity and cooling sea breezes provide relief from the heat and conditions in the afternoon can be quite comfortable. However, it is best to try to avoid the sun between the hours of 12 -3 as the UV rating is quite extreme.

If you want to walk the streets of Murcia town, waiting until the 8pm sunset will prove beneficial as you won’t feel the heat that radiates from the buildings. Due to its location almost 50 km from the beach, Murcia town is significantly hotter than the coastal areas and experiences little cooling from the afternoon breezes.

The hottest day ever recorded in recent times was in July 1994 when the barometer sky rocketed to 47 degrees Celsius!

WINTER

The region is very mild, particular when compared to northern Europe! Winter months are filled with clear, sunny days and minimal rainfall. November is the wettest month and December and January are the coolest months, averaging approximately 10 degrees Celsius.

Unlike the summer months however, Murcia’s weather throughout winter is known to be somewhat temperamental. You may be enjoying the pleasant 20C degree days, only to be met with a sharp 6 degree day not longer after. Despite this, the water temperature remains considerably warm which contribute to Murcia being a year round tourist destination as it is possible to swim in all seasons.

SPRING/AUTUMN

Spring sees Murcia warming up slight and the initial tourist streams begin to arrive. The temperatures of warm enough to swim and are perfect for outdoor activities as you are not subject to the relentless summer sun. March sees average temperatures at 15 degrees before moving up to 18 degrees come May.

Autumn in Murcia is when school restarts, tourists have left and temperatures return to a pleasant 24 degrees. If you want to enjoy a more ‘genuine’ experience of the region, Autumn is a good time to visit as you can avoid the peak prices of summer, busy beaches and are much less likely to come home with unattractive tan lines and blistering sunburn!
